Elie Arnaud Denoix Distillery was founded in 1839 and is located in the Limousin region of France, two hours from Bordeaux. The Denoix Distillery has gone through painstaking efforts to resurrect the distillery's ancient formula for one of the world's finest handcrafted absinthes. Mythe Absinthe Traditional is distilled with aniseed, badiane, vervain, hyssop, and, of course, wormwood. Starting at an attractive olive green color, it slowly louches to an opaque, opalescent pastel.
The blend of herbs creates a full, layered bouquet that introduces a balanced palate. The distinctive bitterness of the wormwood makes its presence known, without overwhelming the other botanicals. A creamy lemon character appears on the finish.
